Our client, a well-established homebuilder, is seeking a Director of Real Estate Development to manage residential land opportunities from raw land to third-party fully developed finished lots. This is a great opportunity to join a company that has been serving customers since 1994, with a focus on quality and putting customers first.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Oversee investigation of land details and due diligence to determine eligibility for land acquisition 
  • Coordinate with Land Acquisition Managers through the negotiation for purchase 
  • Oversee and consult with municipal staff on timelines and application processes 
  • Oversee the completion, submittal, and approval of zoning applications, including rezoning, PUD, plat, variances, and amendments 
  • Review municipal ordinances and write PUD development standards, ordinances, and related documents 
  • Consult with engineers and landscape architects on the design and layout of conceptual plans 
  • Oversee and review due diligence packages and site inspections for development-related issues 
  • Facilitate and attend meetings with key stakeholders, including utility providers, planning staff, government officials, civic organizations, and local neighborhood groups, as well as public hearings and neighborhood meetings 
  • Prepare all presentation materials for public hearings and stakeholder meetings 
  • Work with the Land Development and Construction teams to ensure that development and construction comply with all requirements

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's degree in urban planning, landscape architecture, civil engineering, construction management, business, or a related field of study 
  • Experience in real estate or local government is a plus 
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills 
  • Ability to establish and maintain strong relationships with stakeholders
