B2B Business Development Intern

Internship Description

This is an entry-level business development and B2B sales internship with a focus on building relationships, gaining experience in the technology and software industry, and learning to use data to test, change, and improve results. This is a great internship for social individuals who enjoy meeting new people, personal interaction, and having real impact and influence on the success of a small business.

This a paid internship that is managed by the Apprenace internship program. You will be placed with an Apprenace client in need of assistance building stronger connections with peers and potential clients, building awareness of services and solutions, and finding ways to help their community beyond literal sales.

Applicants should have an existing comfort level with introducing yourself to new people, learning concepts and ideas quickly, and skilled at asking questions and being able to say “I don’t know, but I can find out.” This role is focused on highly technical industries. While experience is nice, you are not expected to know anything about the details prior to starting your internship.

Most of all, this is a mentored internship. We will help teach you the skills you need to succeed!

This intern will earn $12-15 per hour.

Requirements

  • Must love to meet and connect with new people.
  • Ideally has a confidence (or a desire to become more confident) in initiating conversations.
  • Has a passion for building relationships and thrives on helping people.
  • Should be available at least 16 to 24 hrs a week with ability to work on-site at least two days a week at a minimum, schedule flexibility available.
  • Bachelor’s degree in any related field or a senior needing credit hours to finish degree.
  • If no degree, demonstrable experience and enthusiasm for this field will be considered.
  • Must be computer literate and have basic executive skills for phone calls, email, scheduling, etc.
  • This role uses tools like Zoho CRM, Salesforce, Pipedrive, Slack, Trello, G Suite, Microsoft Office, LinkedIn, GoToMeeting, and HubSpot. Experience with these or similar tools is nice, but not required.

Responsibilities

  • Listen, learn, and ask questions!
  • Work to build relationships with targeted organizations in the community.
  • Keep good records and report on communication activities.
  • Provide feedback on the process and track results in order to improve the overall strategy and tactics used to build new relationship.
  • Most of all, get real experience, build lasting connections, and have a real impact on small, tight knit organizations.
